There is something extra special when one of your team chooses to wear Sassi Holford for their wedding day. Bethan, our Digital Marketing Assistant, looked simply stunning wearing her bespoke Sassi Holford gown with overskirt and matching bespoke veil from Couture Veil. Bethan combined the incredible 3D Iris fabric with a delicate bateau neck, fitted skirt and a detachable overskirt to give her two wedding looks.
Bethan said of her wedding journey… “A pandemic wedding planning journey that for the most part didn’t go to plan but ended up with the wedding of my dreams. The proposal was planned multiple times throughout the height of the pandemic, (it was supposed to be on a private candlelit beach dinner on our holiday to Barbados!) and ended up on a rainy Sunday at our local beach before a surprise socially distanced garden party with our closest family members.”

What were your wedding day non-negotiables?
Just two, a venue that had enough rooms for all our closest friends and family to stay and spend an entire weekend together after being apart for so long and it had to be on our 10 year anniversary.
Did you always know what you wanted your wedding dress to look like?
I thought I did but then as soon as I began the dress shopping journey, I realised I liked too much that I didn’t actually know what I wanted to wear on the day. After trying on around 40 dresses, I narrowed it down to the things I definitely wanted for my wedding dress and thankfully the Sassi Holford team brought it all together for me.
What was it like to create a bespoke gown with the help of the Sassi Holford team?
An experience like no other, in fact, I didn’t even realise it was happening until after it happened. I never thought I would ever be able to design my own wedding dress, so to be able to do this was an absolutely unbelievable experience.
I loved the Sassi Holford Iris gown in my appointment but I always wanted a detachable skirt to have two different looks on the day. While in my appointment with Lucy, my sister and Mum had the idea to lift up the embroidered skirt layer of Iris and shimmy on the Saskia dress underneath, and there it was, I had my say yes to the dress moment! Thankfully Lucy and Kristine didn’t think we were to crazy and completely fell in love with the idea too. At the same time, I looked to the right out of the window and Sassi was walking past the shop, Kristine called her in and Sassi Holford sketched my dream dress out in front our eyes.
It really was an experience I will never forget and feel very lucky to have had. I recommend Sassi Holford, Kristine, Lucy and Emily to everyone I know!
If you could go back and relive one part of your wedding again, what would it be?
Our ceremony! The part of the day I never thought too much about, considering it’s actually the most important part of the day, ended up being my favourite part of the day. I knew I wanted us to write our own vows, as ceremonies I’ve been to in the past, have always seemed slightly impersonal. But everything about it, from the songs we chose, our sisters, friends, niece and nephew walking down the aisle before my Dad and I, George looking so handsome and emotional as I stepped towards him, tears from our guests followed by their cheering over my excitement to finally become his wife after 10 years! Thankfully we have the entire ceremony on video so I can live it over and over again!
