Despite all the challenges and changes the wedding industry has faced in the last eighteen months, our brides have shown us that where there is love their is hope and determination. Charlotte and Will’s special day was heavily impacted by the restrictions for weddings held in 2020. They had to postpone their original date, reduce their guests to 30 and then only days before reduce again to 15 people.
Charlotte wore Elspeth striking in its simplicity, this perfectly cut princess-line gown is made from the softest Mikado silk. The architecture of this wedding dress is magnificent as it defines your silhouette, allowing the dramatic off-the-shoulder collar to shine. “I am so glad that, despite the very tiny number of guests, I still went ahead and wore my wedding dress. It is so beautiful and special.”

What made you choose a Sassi Holford gown?
I visited a few dress designers but was struggling to find ‘the one’. Knowing I wanted something simple, timeless and elegant, I was drawn to Sassi’s style. The moment I tried on my Sassi Holford dress I didn’t want to take it off! I felt amazing in it, and knew it was the one for me. We had to move our wedding from June to October. Fortunately, having picked a beautiful classic dress, it was suitable for all seasons.
What was the main inspiration behind your wedding?
We were married on the Devon coast, somewhere that has been very special to my family for years. We knew we wanted a classic and traditional wedding day, surrounded by family and friends. Our inspiration for our marquee and flowers came from the colourful landscape and wildflowers that decorate the coastline, and we always wanted our menu to reflect the fantastic local produce available, from Devonshire Crab to Red Devon Beef.
What was your favourite moment from the day?
It is hard to pick just one. We faced a number of disappointing pandemic announcements in the lead up to our wedding which meant we had to strip back to 15 guests. In the end it was a magical and very intimate day celebrating with our nearest and dearest in such a special place. Undoubtedly seeing my husband’s face as I walked down the aisle on my father’s arm, was a moment I will never forget. There were many fabulous moments that I will cherish forever.
