Bridal FAQs

Where are your wedding dresses made?

Our wedding dresses are designed and made by hand by our team in Somerset, England.

Where are your stores?

Our London bridal store is in South Kensington, London, and our Somerset bridal store is in the market town of Taunton.

We also have a variety of stockists worldwide, ranging from the UK, USA and Australia.

What price do your wedding gowns start from?

Sassi Holford gowns start from £3,500. A completely bespoke design starts from £6,500.

At our flagship stores, every gown is made-to-order using the measurements taken at your appointment. We also offer an in-house alteration package with one of our expert Sassi Holford seamstresses, to tailor the gown to fit you perfectly. This cost does vary dependent on the dress, so please reach out to our stores for more information.

Should you not opt for our in-house alteration package, you are welcome to arrange alterations at an independent seamstress following a collection fitting.

What happens at my first appointment?

Every Sassi Holford appointment starts with you! We will have an informal chat to get to know your style and your initial thoughts for your wedding day. If you have a vision board or Pinterest board, please feel free to share it with us. Our aim is to make you feel your most confident, beautiful and reflect your personality. We will then select 4-6 dresses to start the journey of finding your perfect wedding dress.

Is there a fee for a bridal consultation?

We charge a booking fee of £45 for your first bridal consultation at our London bridal store, and £20 for your first bridal consultation at our Somerset store.

Our team is passionate and dedicated to turning your dress dreams into a reality and will gladly reschedule your appointment with up to 72 hours’ notice. If you wish to cancel your appointment at any point to reschedule with less than 72 hours’ notice, your booking fee will be used as an administration charge.

What do I need to bring/wear for my first appointment?

It is best to wear nude coloured underwear. Bridal shoes will be provided during the appointment.

What size are your samples?

In our London and Somerset stores, our samples range from a size 10 to a size 20. We do not have every style in every size but if there is a particular gown you are interested in, please make sure to add it to your appointment notes when you book. Please be aware bridal sizing can be 1-2 sizes smaller than the high street due to the fitted nature of the garment.

As every Sassi Holford gown is made-to-order based on measurements taken at your appointment to ensure a flawless fit, we can make dresses in any size.

If you are visiting one of our Sassi Holford stockists, we recommend contacting them directly to find out what sample sizes they have.

Can I bring friends and family to my appointments?

We welcome our brides to bring up to three guests with them to their appointment. If you wish to bring more than three, please contact the store beforehand as only certain times will be available. All our stores have street level access, if you have any accessibility requirements, please contact the store.

How long does it take for my dress to be made?

All of our wedding dresses are made-to-order at our atelier, meaning lead times may vary. To ensure a seamless process, we recommend ordering your gown at least 6-8 months before your wedding date. For a fully bespoke creation, we advise allowing 10 months. If your wedding is less than 6 months away, please reach out to our team—we will do everything possible to accommodate your timeline.

How many fittings will I need?

If you choose our in-house alteration service, there will usually be 2-3 fittings. If you have chosen a bespoke gown, we may advise an additional toile fitting.

What is the process for a bespoke gown?

For those seeking a truly bespoke gown, the journey begins with an invitation to share your vision through inspiration photos, followed by an exploration of silhouettes from our curated collections. From there, we will craft an initial sketch, selecting fabrics and refining intricate details. If further refinement is needed, a private appointment will be arranged, offering the opportunity to collaborate closely with our senior stylists or Sassi herself to perfect the design and bring your vision to life.

Do you hold sample sales?

Our Somerset Outlet is located on the first-floor of our Somerset store, where samples and ex-display dresses are available for discounted prices. For exclusive sample in-store sales, we hold 1 – 2 sample sales per year at both our London and Somerset bridal stores. If you would like to be the first to hear about our sample sales, make sure to follow us on Instagram and subscribe to our newsletter.
