Project Objectives
We operate at the luxury end of the sector and over time our work has become more bespoke to cater for the expectations of a demanding clientele. This has created a top-heavy production process with increased processes and staffing before a piece of fabric is cut. We use a production database to process orders and a CAD system for pattern production.
The prime questions for this internship project are:
Are we using the software to their fullest extent?
Can we streamline our processes from order receipt to garment production?

- Interview relevant team members to understand both the business-as-usual and non-standard processes involving the management of design, business and operations datasets.
- Capture the processes in a process map to highlight what data is captured and what systems it is stored in (and other diagrams such as Context Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams and Function Decomposition).
- Highlight data duplications and inefficiencies in the data processing such that processes can be simplified.
