Elegant and classic, while still showing their personalities, was the theme for Isobel and Jonny’s big day. Isobel chose to wear Sassi Holford Charlotte defined by its elegant clean lines and full skirt. To inject her personality and make her wedding look even more special, Isobel wore her beloved royal blue Manolo Blahnik Hangisis, as seen in Sex & The City.
Isobel said of her wedding planning journey… “My husband proposed just before our fifth year anniversary, which was then followed by a very relaxed summer with absolutely no wedding planning! We wanted our wedding to be unaffected by covid so planned it for 2022 (17 months after we got engaged). Our journey to the big day was filled with fun, chaos, stress and most definitely love. Three months on from the big day and I wouldn’t change a thing!”

What was the inspiration for your wedding day
We really wanted our wedding day to be timeless and a day we would look back on in years to come and still not want to change a thing. We also wanted it to be a day that reflected our personalities, yet be elegant and classic. My biggest inspiration was the flowers and foliage, which were white and green. I wanted these to be the main feature, with everything else complementing them.
What were your wedding day non-negotiables?
Before I even found my dress I knew what shoes I would be wearing. My husband had bought me the classic blue Manolo Blahnik’s from Sex and The City as a first Christmas present many years ago. I knew that I would be wearing those shoes no matter the dress, weather or pain from dancing! I kept it a secret from him until our wedding day, which he loved.
Our other non-negotiable was that we wanted a venue with absolute privacy – it is daunting enough standing up in front of 90 of our friends and family so the last thing we wanted was any strangers peeking in. We also wanted space for our immediate family and bridal/groom parties to stay. Hedsor House provided everything we wanted and more.
Did you always know what you wanted your wedding dress to look like?
I had absolutely no idea! Having visited a different bridal boutique on the same day as my Sassi Holford appointment, I left feeling rather deflated. Nothing quite wowed me and I wanted this dress to be special. When I arrived at Sassi Holford I met Chesca and she soon had me trying on every style of dress Sassi designed. She really helped me find exactly what I did and didn’t like. It is true what they say about wedding dress shopping – try everything on! Funnily enough, the dress I ended up choosing (Charlotte) was the dress my Mother had seen on your website and thought I would love and look best in!
What made you choose Sassi Holford?
I had no idea where to start looking for dresses so I started locally in London and discovered Sassi Holford. A quick browse of the website was all I needed to book my first appointment. As I mentioned above, my experience in store was wonderful and the dresses speak for themselves. The craftsmanship on every dress was stunning and I really liked that the dresses were made in England. Once I tried on Charlotte there really was no other contender – the cut, simplicity and timelessness of the dress was absolutely perfect.
What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
When my husband saw me walking down the aisle. I value his opinion in all aspects of life and so to hide my dress from him for over 10 months was quite a challenge! His reaction was so full of love and in a day that flew by in a blur, that is a moment that has stayed with me.
