We are delighted to share the beautiful winter wedding of Kirsty and Joseph. Every photo taken by Tina Vedrine captured their day full of love, laughter and fun. Kirsty looked incredible wearing Sassi Holford Elizabeth which she fell in love with at our wonderful Norfolk stockist, The Bottom Drawer Bridal. Kirsty added sumptuous toffee, caramel and amber florals with this season’s must-have detail pearls to finish her wedding look.

Tell us a little about your wedding dress journey…

My wedding dress journey and experience was such a wonderful one (I’m very lucky) I decided to do my hunt with my mum as she has very similar taste to me and I knew she’d give an honest opinion without controlling my choice; a perfect balance. We tried a store that you stock at in the heart of London and I instantly fell in love with the designs and fit of the dresses, in my head I thought that first trip I had found my ‘dream dress’ I decided to go away and think about it as it was the first shop I had tried and I didn’t want to limit my choices. We had already booked our wedding venue at the beautiful Pentney Abbey in Norfolk so I thought I’d try my luck and visit a bridal shop in the local area to our venue. I found Bottom Drawer Bridal and fell in love (not knowing that they stocked your beautiful gowns) I had a quick flick through online and said to my mum grab your tissues we’re trying this place out. When we arrived between the two of us myself and my mum picked out a couple dresses each that caught our eye…we both chose Elizabeth so we left her till last. When I tried her on I just knew this was MY dress, the tears started and the bank card came out. I had found the perfect dress for me!! I couldn’t believe it when Victoria the owner of the store said “this is a Sassi Holford” dress, I knew that I had to have it even more.  Out of all the dresses I tried on the 2 that made me feel the most special were yours so it was kind of fate!

What made you choose the Elizabeth gown? How did it make you feel?

Originally I always thought my wedding dress would be fitted and full of lace with a very low neck but when I tried these styles on personally I didn’t feel like a bride. The moment I tried on the Elizabeth gown I knew it was my dress, I felt like a bride and the most beautiful, elegant version of myself. The low back allowed me to still have an element of quirk and sexiness which I was a big fan of, not to mention the pockets which my lipstick thoroughly enjoyed.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

Gosh, that’s a hard one as there were so many moments that’ll stay with me forever. Overall after the crazy 2 years of Covid and restrictions just having all our loved ones in one space enjoying themselves was such a big highlight for myself and my husband. But if I had to choose it would be our ceremony, we had our good friend Bishop Rob travel from London to conduct our ceremony. Getting blessed and married by a Bishop was an amazing experience but to have someone marry us that knew us and could really speak from the heart about us and our lives together was a lovely moment to share with all our friends and family.  Overall it was an amazing day and I’d love to do it all over again!!!
