Mary-Claire and Alex married in the heart of London at the beautiful Farm Street Church, Mayfair, before moving to the elegant and timeless surroundings of Claridge’s to enjoy their evening with close family and friends.
Mary-Claire looked effortlessly glamorous in her bespoke Sassi Holford Jemima gown in silk duchess. Sassi worked closely with Mary-Claire to design the dress of her dreams “I wanted to thank you and your so team so much for being so flexible and agreeing to design and make my wedding dress at such short notice. What made you choose a Sassi Holford gown?
Three weeks before my wedding and 25 different bridal appointments later I still had not decided on a wedding gown. At the eleventh hour Sassi came to my rescue. From the minute we met she made me feel like it was all going to be ok… and she was right. Sassi found time for me between appointments as another bride was running late. Nothing was impossible, she had the vision and experience I needed to help me make the final decision. I will forever be grateful to Sassi for opening her door and helping a tearful bride on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
What was the main inspiration behind your wedding?
My father is sadly no longer with us and I wanted to create a celebration that he would be truly proud of. I have many fond memories of the black-tie dinners he used to attend in London and this became the inspiration for the wedding. I love the excitement and architecture of London at night and have always been drawn to Art deco designs, Hollywood glam, and of course James Bond.
What was your favourite moment from the day?
There were many fabulous moments that I will cherish forever: listening to the amazing choir at Farm Street Church singing Ava Maria, driving through Mount Street in a vintage Porsche speedster with my brother, seeing my friends and family together, listening to the heartfelt and hilarious speeches, and walking back to Claridge’s at 4am after karaoke with my husband and siblings.
