Despite having to make changes to their original plans, Tanwa and Joe embraced the day and saw it as an opportunity to have a wedding day totally unique to them. They married in the somewhat quieter hustle and bustle of London surrounded by a small group of their closest family and friends, and their wider wedding party on the wonder of Zoom.

What made you choose a Sassi Holford gown?
I had lived in South Kensington throughout my 20s and walked past the boutique everyday. The dresses in the window always seemed classic, elegant and feminine. I wanted something timeless and the fact that I got married in my 40s, and still chose Sassi Holford, is testament to the fact that when I look back in another 20 years my dress will still deliver on all those qualities.
What was the main inspiration behind your wedding?
Our wedding took place whilst restrictions were still in place due to the pandemic and so the inspiration was to have our own bespoke day. We did not want to see it as compromises that had to be made but instead to think we don’t have to do it the way weddings are always done. We wanted a London wedding which captured the essence of the city at its best; elegant yet fun. We had a day filled with that and much more – tears, laughter, unbridled joy and immense relief!
What was your favourite moment from the day?
My husband picking up the iPad (we had this so 140 friends and family could join on Zoom) and carrying it down the aisle as we left the church. This was impromptu and we absolutely loved seeing all their smiling faces, they also all loved their front row seat!
