Amanda and Mark married in the beautiful Isle of Skye after the pandemic had changed their wedding date five times. Surrounded by immediate family, they married in a magical outdoor ceremony at the Quiraing.
Amanda looked stunning wearing Sassi Holford Iris from the latest collection, Asteria, paired with her Dr. Martens which gave the billowing boho gown a tougher edge. The colour of Iris’ embroidery stands out against the iconic Isle of Skye landscape.

What made you choose a Sassi Holford gown?
The moment I saw Iris with her colourful yet delicate flowers when Sassi’s new collection was released online I thought she was perfect! I could just envisage roaming around the Isle of Skye on our wedding day feeling like a Scottish Princess and, after several postponements due to Covid, I did! I discovered that Rachel Scott in Edinburgh was a stockist and excitedly arranged to see the dress in person, meanwhile, knowing none of the above, one of my best friends sent me a link to the dress saying she thought it was the one for me! When I went along to Rachel’s shop, Iris ended up being the only dress I tried on and I didn’t want to take her off!
What was the main inspiration behind your wedding?
After several postponements over the course of a year as a result of the pandemic, Mark and I decided that we weren’t going to let a virus get in the way of us being husband and wife any longer! We decided to go for a relaxed day that was truly about us in one of the most magical places. We climbed a hill, shared our own vows, laughed, cried, drank whisky and didn’t even notice the Scottish showers! It was perfect.
What was your favourite moment from the day?
A moment of realisation at the end of the night when we were cuddled up on the sofa with a cup of tea that, after almost 10 years together and 5 rearranged wedding dates, we were FINALLY husband and wife! And, if it’s allowed, I have a second favourite moment on our ‘not wedding day’?! … A couple of days later on our honeymoon we met up with a couple of friends; I put my beautiful Iris gown back on and Mark and I enjoyed our first dance on an isthmus overlooking Arran to Take My Hand by Skerryvore!
