A Dream Opportunity
As someone who proudly works for Sassi Holford, a renowned, talented, and knowledgeable British wedding dress designer, I had the unique and invaluable opportunity to be directly involved in creating my gown with Sassi. It was a dream come true for someone who lives and breathes wedding fashion every day.
Designing with Intention
Being part of fabric selection and design development meant endless possibilities. From the moment we started designing my dress, I had access to a world of luxurious fabrics, intricate trims, and an incredibly skilled team. I was able to incorporate elements I truly loved—a taffeta gown with a distinctive puff sleeve and a fashion-forward aesthetic. Every detail was crafted to reflect my style and personality.
Watching the Dress Come to Life
One of the most thrilling aspects of the process was watching my dress evolve. It began with sketches, toiling, swatching, and development, leading to multiple design and fabric changes (sorry, Sassi!). I envisioned statement sleeves, a dramatic detachable bow, a defined waistband, and a voluminous skirt with a striking train.
At the same time, the Tatum dress was being developed as part of the Serenity 2025 collection. Standing in the middle of the studio in the research and development toile, I couldn’t help but fall in love with its concept. Each fitting felt like a new chapter, bringing my dream dress to life.
The Final Moment and Lasting Pride
One moment I’ll treasure forever was the final fitting. I felt phenomenal. Sassi had that knowing look in her eye—‘I’ve nailed this.’ And she truly had.
There is no better feeling than wearing something that embodies your entire personality, and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I felt like a princess all day.
I may be biased, but Sassi and her team are one of a kind. They are true professionals, the very best at what they do—and I’m so proud to be part of that team. Sassi Holford dresses are simply unmatched.
