Our Production Administrator Laura, plays a vital part in the production team. As well as being our main contact for our wonderful stockists, Laura makes sure the production process runs as smoothly as possible to ensure our made-to-order wedding dresses are with our brides on time. We sat down with Laura to give an insight into our Somerset atelier.
Let us into a typical day of a Production Administrator at Sassi Holford.
The core of my job is being the point of contact for all stockists, processing all orders and helping to maintain a healthy workflow. Every day, I’ll work through lots of different kinds of queries, organise loans and trunk shows and finalise orders ready for production. I’ve been here for just over two years and every day is very varied and busy, which I love!
What do you love most about your job?
Getting to work so closely with such talented women across departments, liaising with our lovely stockists and playing a part in the journey that see’s Sassi’s designs and orders come to life.
What makes you love working within the team?
The drive, attention to detail and hard work never wavers. Everyone’s skilled in different ways but we work together, support each other and are passionate about what we do; determined to deliver to the highest Sassi Holford standard, which is a really inspiring atmosphere to work in.
Tell us about your career journey; what did you study and what led you to your role at Sassi Holford?
I studied Fashion Styling and Direction then went on to do a Master’s in Creative Direction. The courses were broad which gave me an understanding in a wide range of areas across fashion, whilst building my project management skills. I worked a lot with a variety of clients as well as teams, making sure all was in place to produce the best possible product. It was important to me that I worked for a company where I could put those skills to use and still work alongside various teams, getting involved with different areas, so I was excited to find the position with Sassi.
What made you want to work in Bridal?
I never planned to go into Bridal specifically, but always admired it, even when I was little, watching all the TV shows. Sassi once told me, if you want to work with the best in fashion, work with Bridal. And she’s right; the intricacy, skill, and beauty I see every day is unmatched. Not to mention the timeless, slow fashion and ethics of our brand.
What has been your favourite moment of your time at Sassi Holford?
The first time I saw a new collection come together. I was in dispatch prepping them for the launch, and really got the chance to take them in, as a whole. It was a surreal moment. Sassi really is a visionary and I was in awe of the team and what they’d created, it’s an amazing feeling seeing everyone’s hard work become reality. I also love getting to see all our stockists together in London and New York every year to show them Sassi’s new collections. It’s always great to catch-up with them in person after a year of calls!
