Made in England

We are passionate advocates for British manufacturing and supporting our local community, and that is why we’ve always made our garments here in England. This also ensures we keep our carbon footprint at the bare minimum whilst producing our gowns and ready-to-wear collections. We understand that creating our gowns should not be at the cost of the environment; which is why Sassi Holford is not only synonymous with exquisite designs and luxury fabrics, but also our long standing ethos of responsibility.

Sassi has been working with an incredible team of dedicated artisans in England since she started the brand; in fact, her head seamstress Tina, has been working at our Somerset atelier for over 30 years. By working with a team full of people with values that align with our brands beliefs and goals is an integral part to ensuring the making of our gowns is as eco-friendly as possible. Our Taunton atelier is where all of our dresses and ready-to-wear collections are created; a serene, calm space where our team work on making your dream wedding dress a reality.

Having our bridal gowns and women’s collections made in England is the most effective way of keeping our impact on the environment as minimal as possible. Sustainability runs throughout the entire process; from making sure we recycle and reuse any offcuts, to keeping our collections small and made to order, resulting in less waste. We aim to source our fabrics from the UK or Europe, again, keeping our footprint low by reducing travel and reiterating the importance of sustainability with each step of the design journey. The majority of tulle used in a Sassi Holford wedding dress has been made within 30 miles of our atelier and all of the tulle used for our veils is made within that distance. The lace used on our Constance gown is also made locally, and we will continue to source our bridal fabrics and other materials as close to home as possible.

We recognise the importance of nurturing talent and in a world where so many skills are now exported, we understand that if we want to keep couture skills alive here in the UK, we need to
pass on our knowledge to the next generation. That’s why every year Sassi Holford take on apprentices who work alongside our artisans learning their craft and guaranteeing a future for the bespoke industry in England.

We want to make sure you have the wedding day you want, without compromising on your beliefs. Eco weddings have been gaining popularity for the past several years, and as a brand we
want our sustainability goals to reflect your own. When a bride chooses to begin their dress journey with us, we want them to know that they are working with a brand that has been
passionate about protecting the planet for over 40 years, resulting in gowns that are responsibly made without compromising on style or eye for detail. You can click here to book an appointment to start your very own wedding dress journey.
